The Georgia Tech Club entertained its Founder Members on Saturday, August 23, showing the construction progress of the development, hosting a barbecue on site, and providing Founder Members with homesite reservations the opportunity to view lots. The Club hosted a Founder Member/Guest golf tournament in May and the formal ground breaking is expected in the early fall.
The Georgia Tech Club consists of approximately 610 acres located in Atlantas northern quadrant, near Alpharetta in the heart of the GA-400 corridor, in Cherokee and Fulton counties. The Georgia Tech Club will feature an 18-hole Rees Jones championship golf course, a campus style clubhouse complex including a pro shop, dining area, club lounge and locker rooms. In addition to the clubhouse, a Lifestyle Center will feature a spa, fitness, wellness center and a Swim Center. There will also be a Tennis Club designed by former U.S. Open and Wimbledon champion, Stan Smith.
University Clubs by Melrose, the developer of the Georgia Tech Club, recently relocated its local development offices to Alpharetta. George Griffin, director of sales for The Georgia Tech Club, Michael Hickman, a sales executive for the Club, and Jim Bromwell has recently been named development manager for the Club, now office at this location. Cliff Stanfield III, construction supervisor, is now working on-site to supervise all phases of the construction process.
"Most of the golf holes for the Rees Jones designed course have been cleared, as well as some homesites and other areas of the community," said George Griffin. "Our goal is grassing the golf course next summer. Were very pleased with the response to the Georgia Tech Club and in our progress in developing what will be a beautiful new home community in Atlanta, as well as a wonderful resource for Georgia Tech, my alma mater."
Another resource for people interested in following the progress of the community is the fully redesigned website for the Georgia Tech Club, www.georgiatechclub.com. The web site provides updates on the project, regularly posted construction photos, and descriptions of the overall progress with the community.
