FIRST RESIDENTS MOVE INTO ECHELON, HOME OF THE GEORGIA TECH CLUB Atlanta, GA. Echelon consists of 230 estate homesites, each over one acre in size on approximately 610 acres located in North Atlanta’s "horse country" near Alpharetta. Tom Campbell of Campbell Homes, Inc home built the Dixon home. The 8,200-sq.-ft. home overlooks the first fairway of the Georgia Tech Club golf course, designed by Rees Jones. There will also be a Tennis Club designed by former U.S. Open and Wimbledon champion, Stan Smith, and a Swim Center. Joey Dixon was a member of the Georgia Tech golf team in 1985 through 1987. One of the years Dixon played the Tech team was ranked number one in the country. Fellow team members included Charlie Rymer, Bill MacDonald, Jay Nichols, Bob McDonnell and Nacho Gervas. "The home is good for us both in terms of its character, which is traditional, as well as its features," said Kelly Dixon, a realtor with Coldwell Banker. "The kitchen has two islands. We both work out of the home so that was a critical component.
