The Melrose Company of Hilton Head, South Carolina, a developer of prestigious golf clubs and residential communities across the country, has selected Alpharetta-based AVI, Inc. as the technology integrator for Echelon, Home of the Georgia Tech Club, a master-planned, high-tech golf community being built in Fulton and Cherokee Counties.

"Echelon / Georgia Tech Club will set new standards for elegance, excellence and technology in master-planned, golf communities," said William R. Shine III, Vice President – University Clubs by Melrose and General Manager of Echelon / Georgia Tech Club.

"We selected AVI to help us achieve our technology vision for this community because of their in-depth knowledge of broadband and communications infrastructure and proven expertise in designing and integrating sophisticated home entertainment, control and information systems."

AVI also will specify the wiring standards to ensure that every home in the community will have the wiring infrastructure to support and enable the networking of today’s and tomorrow’s digital technology products for home theaters, multi-room audio and video, entertainment PCs and media servers, as well as sophisticated security, surveillance, lighting and climate control systems.

AVI also will equip the clubhouse and Golf Learning Center with state-of-the art video, audio, security and automation systems and install a home technology demo theater in the Information Center.

Echelon, Home of the Georgia Tech Club, is a 610-acre tract in Alpharetta off of Birmingham Highway that will have over 200 home sites. It will feature an 18-hole, Rees Jones-designed golf course and the southeast's largest Golf Learning Center. The golf course will be the home course of Georgia Tech's NCAA Golf Team.
