W. Craig Hartle has been named director of golf of the Georgia Tech Club, located within Echelon, a luxury golf community in Atlanta’s northern suburbs. Echelon consists of 230 estate homesites, each approximately one acre in size. Hartle will oversee all aspects of golf operations for the Georgia Tech Club. "Craig Hartle brings to the Georgia Tech Club a strong background in golf operations management, experience with the Georgia PGA Section as a member of the board of directors and in other roles, and is an accomplished competitive golfer himself," said Trip Shine, general manager of Echelon. "Craig will contribute to immediately establishing the Georgia Tech Club as a fine golf club. We are very fortunate to have him on our staff."

Hartle, who is a Class A PGA professional, was most recently director of golf for Ansley Golf Club at Settindown Creek, where he worked since 1993. While at Settindown Hartle participated in the hosting of the 1995 and 1996 Nike Tour Championships, 2002 NCAA Regionals, 2003 Georgia State Open and the 2005 U.S. Women’s Amateur Championship. Prior to that Hartle was director of golf for the Sheraton Savannah Resort. He achieved a B.B.A. degree from Western Michigan University in 1980, where he played on the golf team for two years. He is a current member of the Georgia PGA Board of Directors and is tournament chairman for the Georgia PGA. As a competitor Hartle has won over 30 professional events, including being Georgia P.G.A. Champion in 1986 and 1995. He has given over 5,000 lessons and clinics to golfers of all ages.

"Being part of the Georgia Tech Club will allow me to utilize all of my skills at a premier golf club," said Hartle. "The golf course is challenging within a beautiful setting. I intend to make the members very proud to be part of the club and to help them enjoy their golf experience." The Georgia Tech Club will feature an 18-hole Rees Jones championship golf course, a 34-acre practice range and learning center, and a clubhouse including a pro shop, dining area, club lounge and locker rooms. As part of the clubhouse, the facilities will include a fitness and wellness area and an adjacent Swim Center. There will also be a Tennis Club designed by former U.S. Open and Wimbledon champion, Stan Smith. The entire Echelon community covers approximately 610 acres located in Atlanta’s northern quadrant, located west of the GA-400 corridor, in Cherokee and Fulton counties.
